According to the earliest information pieces, the reincarnation of a punk-opera «American Idiot», was planned to appear in form of musical film directed by Tom Hanks, but ... After premiers and narrations told by creators, it became clear that this would be an art motion picture, that even Julia Roberts may participate and that Tom might still get the director’s chair.
Though, now we know exactly just that Green Day work already "at full capacity" on adapting the story of the album to the film. OK, we will wait and see ...
